After living in California for twenty-one years, Melissa now lives happily single in Portland, Oregon, a city she fell in love with during her previous visits. She followed her passion and offered psychotherapy services to people who needed guidance and were seeking healing before and during the publication of her self-help book.
Melissa completed her bachelor's degree at the California State University of Northridge and graduated with a degree in Psychology. She then applied and completed a postgraduate degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Antioch University Los Angeles, CA.
Melissa has a license from the state of California and offers psychotherapy via Telehealth in her own private practice and as a member of a group practice. She plans to transfer her professional license to Portland, Oregon, where she will be able to meet with her clients in person.
When Melissa isn't writing in her favorite café, she's spending time outdoors, going on hikes, visiting art galleries, museums, exploring new places, traveling, and attending healing circles. Melissa has worked hard to foster a strong sense of community in Portland and places a high emphasis on interpersonal relationships.
